Dr. Jamie enjoys the process of building a relationship with her patients based on trust and open communication. Starting with the patients' personal health goals and overall wellbeing, her discussions often revolve around topics beyond the teeth. Clinically, she enjoys the art and science of restoring health and function for her patients and takes a special interest in Biomimetic Restorative Dentistry (BRD) and Adhesive Dentistry. She continues to advance her skills and knowledge in dentistry by consistently taking continuing education each year well beyond the requirements to practice dentistry. She also enjoys mentoring dentists at the L.D. Pankey Institute, a cornerstone of the dental profession, and participates in multiple dental study clubs that focus on clinical, behavioral, and leadership skills. Dr. Jamie earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Washington in 1999 and Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from the Oregon Health & Science University in 1991. Jamie believes that her background as a practicing dental hygienist prior to completing her doctorate degree has made her a more well-rounded clinician and person.
Jamie is a lifelong Tacoma-area resident, as well as a second-generation dental practitioner: her dad, a former dentist himself, now works in appliance and model-making at Brooks. Jamie is deeply committed to the Tacoma community, and can often be found volunteering around town, walking with her three rescue dogs, or spending quality time with her husband and three children.
"I am lucky that 'my work' has never felt like work to me. Getting to know people, helping them to live longer and healthier lives and digging into the art and science of dentistry is the perfect combination for me."
Brenda facilitates communication between patients and the Brooks team, providing support in all aspects of the patient experience, from care to finances and insurance. Her positivity and patience create a warm environment in which to answer any and all questions!
A lifelong Pacific Northwesterner, Brenda lives in the Gig Harbor area with her husband and son. She’s passionate about connecting with others, and when not at Brooks can be found volunteering with the American Cancer Society or tackling projects around the house to better gather with friends and family. Brenda is an active member of Tacoma Rotary 8, focusing much of her energy on their literacy program.
"My priority is making our patients feel like the attention to their care and experience with our team is above and beyond.”
Growing up in the Gig Harbor area, I love calling the Pacific Northwest my home, and working in my home town communities. While completing my degree in kinesiology from Western Washington University, I found my passion for dentistry. During the time, I underwent dental implant surgery with the University of Washington and was fortunate to intern with a local dentist. Both experiences were immensely intriguing, experiencing dentistry as a patient and providing care. My journey began! In 2015, I graduated dental hygiene school and my love for the profession continues to grow and expand. My most recent training, focusing on myofunctional therapy, will allow me to even further improve your oral and overall heath.
Outside of the office, Bri enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, reading, and running. Keeping active, nutrition, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle are a second passion of Bris. Her most recent adventures include hiking and trail running through our pristine mountains and forests, finding alpine lakes, or chasing after peaks.
“My passion for helping others and a commitment to continuing education allows me to provide the best care for an awesome community!”
I’ve been a dental hygienist since 2003. I grew up in a small town in Iowa and moved to Washington to join my family living in the northwest. Teeth have always fascinated me. My love for dentistry started when I was a young kid with the most amazing and kind dentist growing up and I saw firsthand how he encouraged others to focus on preventative care. I went to school at Hawkeye Community College and graduated with honors and the Hu-friedy “Golden Scaler” Award. My professional goals are to continue to evolve prevention beyond the gums and teeth to the whole body and overall health. This is when Dr. Jamie came into my life and truly values this and aligns with my professional goals to help our patients to achieve their own goals. I have worked at Brooks Dental Studio since August 2021.
I enjoy many hobbies outside of dentistry: yoga, volleyball, wakeboarding, running, and spending quality time with my family and friends.
“I am passionate about making my patients dental experience an exceptional one!”
